How it works?
Three steps and your loved one is texting.
You sign up
Enter the inmate's register number — we verify it live with the BOP and show you their name and facility so the payment always reaches the right person. Then pick a plan.
Inmate adds us
Our system generates a unique email address. The inmate adds it in the prison computer system, and instructions are sent to them automatically.
Happy texting!
They get a permanent, private phone number. You just text it like any other contact — save it, reply, done.
The details
After your payment, our system generates a unique email the inmate adds in the prison
computer system. Once added, instructions are sent automatically and they can start sending
unlimited messages to any phone number in the United States and Canada (according to the
selected plan).
You'll receive messages from a phone number you can confidently save — it's a permanent,
unique number that belongs only to that inmate while payments are up to date. Just reply
like you would to anyone.
If you can't reach the inmate to tell them, contact us and we can
mail them a letter explaining how to start. Note: inmates need access to the prison
computer system to use the service.
Message timing: our system relays every message within seconds — but Corrlinks, the
prison email system, applies its own processing time in each direction. In practice a text
takes about 1 hour to reach the inmate, and their replies take about 1 hour to
reach you. That timing is set by the prison system, not us — nothing is lost.
Who controls what: your payment is a gift of service credit to the inmate.
The inmate uses the features from inside — including placing photo print orders (their
plan must include photos, or they can use extra balance). As the payer you manage the
payments; the inmate manages the usage.
